流通大手の独Metroがデパート部門Kaufhofを年内にも売却する可能性がでてきた。Metroのコルデス社長は30日付の英『ファイナンシャル・タイムズ』掲載のインタビュー記事で「経済危機が再発しない限りKaufhofを2010年中に売却できるようにする」と明言した。買収に関心を示すプライベート・エクイティとは2008年から接触を保っているという。これらの投資家は昨年倒産した独デパート大手Karstadtの一部店舗を買収することにも意欲を示しているもようだ。
