自動車大手の独Daimlerが5日発表したMercedes-Benzブランドの3月の乗用車販売台数は前年同月比6.5％増の13万9,920台となり、1カ月の実績としては過去最高を記録した。日本販売が13.0％増の6,231台と好調だったほか、NAFTA（北米自由貿易協定）も7.7％増の2万8,893台に拡大。全体が強く押し上げられた。景気低迷が続く欧州は2.5％増の6万4,397台で、中国は5.4％増の1万8,611台だった。
