ドイツ連邦統計局が1月31日発表した2017年の小売売上指数(自動車販売店を除く、暫定値)は物価調整後の実質で前年比2.3%増となり、8年連続で拡大した。雇用の安定、賃金の上昇、低インフレ、低金利がこれまでに引き続き個人消費を押し上げる原動力となった。
部門別では通信販売が7.7%増と特に好調だった。インターネット通販市場の急成長が反映された格好。このほか、繊維・衣料・靴・革製品販売店(4.2%増)も好調だった。食料・飲料・たばこ販売店は1.5%の増加にとどまった。
