独自動車部品大手コンティネンタル のエルマー・デーゲンハルト社長は6月29日発行の独地方紙『ハノーバー・アルゲマイネ・ツァイトゥング』に掲載されたインタビュー記事の中で、ドイツの自動車業界は電気自動車（EV）の部品開発で協力関係を強化する必要があると提言した。EVの開発では新たな部品が数多く必要になるが、現在は各社が部品を開発している状態で汎用性に欠けると説明。競争に直接関係しない部品で迅速に標準化を進めることで生産コストを引き下げることができると指摘した。
