独ワイヤーハーネスメーカーのレオニは、バッテリーとエンジンをつなぐアルミニウム製のバスバーを開発している。従来の銅ケーブルに比べ、重量を40～60％軽減でき、大型モデルでは最大3キログラムの軽量化が可能になる。同バスバーは、外側がハロゲンフリーのポリエチレンで覆われており、シャーシの上または下に配置することができる。レオニは新製品のプロトタイプを9月のフランクフルト国際モーターショー（IAA）に出展する予定。
