独高級車メーカーのBMW はドイツのライプチヒ工場に風力発電設備4基を建設する計画だ。2013年に予定する電気自動車「i3」および「i8」の生産開始に合わせて遅くとも同年秋までには完成させる予定という。20日発行の独業界紙『オートモビルボッヘ』が報じた。また、同紙によると、BMWは販売好調を受けて生産能力の増強を進めている。南米ではブラジルに新工場を建設する計画で、候補地は現在2カ所にまで絞られており、早くとも10月に最終決定する見通しという。
