独自動車部品大手のマーレ はフランクフルト国際モーターショー（IAA）にコンパクトカー向けのレンジエクステンダーを出展した。同システムは0.9リットルの2気筒ガソリンエンジン（出力30kW／41PS）とクランクケースに組み込む発電機で構成される。重量は70kg（発電機を含む）。IAAでは、出力55kW／75PSの永久磁石同期電動機とリチウムイオン電池（容量15kWh）を搭載した車両にマーレが開発したレンジエクステンダーを組み込んで出展している。
