仏自動車部品大手のプラスチック・オムニウム は12月9日、上海から約30キロメートルの距離にある中国の安亭に自動車用外装部品の開発センターを開設したと発表した。同センターには現在、エンジニアおよび技術者が約300人勤務している。人員は2016年には450人に拡大する見通し。中国では外装部品の開発需要は高まっており、特に、フォルクスワーゲン、ゼネラルモーターズ、上海汽車（SAIC）、第一汽車（FAW）、BMW、PSAプジョーシトロエン、ジャガーランドローバーからの受注が増えると見込んでいる。
