ドイツ連邦雇用庁（BA）が9月29日発表した同月の失業者数は前月を14万9,000人下回る279万6,000人となり、3カ月ぶりに減少した。280万人を下回るのは1991年以来20年ぶり。夏季バカンスの終了に伴い企業の採用が回復したほか、景気の拡大が続いていることが大きく、季節要因を加味した実質の失業者数も2万6,000人縮小。失業率は0.4ポイント減の6.6％へと低下した。求人指数（BA-X）は1ポイント増の171となり、前月に引き続き過去最高を更新している。
