独高級車メーカーのBMW は3月4～14日まで開催中のジュネーブモーターショーにハイブリッド車のコンセプトカー「コンセプト・5シリーズ・アクティブハイブリッド」を出展する。新型「5シリーズ」をベースに開発された同モデルは、ダブルターボチャージャー付の直列6気筒ガソリンエンジンを搭載。電気モーターの出力は40kWで、従来の5シリーズに比べ燃費を約10％改善している。変速機は8速ATを採用している。
