スペインのサパテロ首相は6日、電気自動車の開発および普及促進に向け総額5億9,000万ユーロを支援する計画を発表した。6,000ユーロを上限に購入価格の20％を補助金として支給する方針。さらに、開発支援として約3億ユーロを自動車業界に援助する計画。2014年までに電気自動車を25万台（ハイブリッド車も含めると100万台）普及させることを目指す。
