化学大手の独BASFは3月29日、研究開発（R&D）体制のグローバル化方針を発表した。R&D活動に占めるアジアと南北アメリカの割合を2020年までに現在の24％から50％へと倍増させる。すでに遺伝子組み換え（GM）作物の研究開発事業はGM技術に批判的な欧州から米国に移管することを決定している。今年第4四半期には上海に研究開発拠点Innovation Campusを開設する予定だ。
