自動車部品大手のBoschは太陽電池事業を昨年11月、Solarworldに譲渡した際、最大1億3,000万ユーロをSolarworldに支払ったもようだ。『ウォール・ストリート・ジャーナル』紙が報じたもので、両社はコメントを控えている。背景には◇Boschは不採算に陥っているチューリンゲン州の太陽電池工場が売却直後に閉鎖される事態を回避したいという思惑を持つ◇Solarworldは経営不振で財務にゆとりがない――という事情があるという。
