独エネルギー大手RWEの英子会社RWEnpowerは8日、テムズ川河口のティルベリーにあるバイオマス発電所を10月末で閉鎖すると発表した。電力価格が低く採算が合わないため。同発電所は最近、石炭発電所からバイオマス発電所に転換されたばかりで、発電能力は750メガワット。買収に関心のある投資家がいれば売却交渉を行うとしている。
