移動通信サービス大手の英Vodafone（ニューベリー）がドイツなどで投資を拡大する。米子会社Verizon Wirelessの売却益を投入。今後3年間の投資額を従来計画よりも70億ユーロ引き上げる。独子会社Vodafone Deutschlandのイェンス・シュルテボックム社長が5日、家電見本市IFAの会場で明らかにした。

ドイツではLTE通信網の敷設を加速するとともに、データ送信容量を拡大。また、全国の基地局を可能な限り光ファイバー通信網に接続する。
