独『Autobild』誌によると、独高級車メーカーのBMW は2015年にも新たな電気自動車（EV）「i5」を市場投入する計画のもようだ。2013年に発売予定の小型車「i3」、2014年に発売予定のスポーツカー「i8」に次ぐ3番目のEVモデルとなる。同モデルは、i3をベースにしたコンパクトMPVとなる見通しで、i3よりもルーフ位置が高く、車内空間やトランクルームを広くした設計となるもよう。
