米自動車部品大手のジョンソン・コントロールズ は14日、独フラウンホーファー・ポリマー素材・複合材料研究所（PYCO）と自動車向けの繊維強化樹脂の開発で提携すると発表した。再利用が可能で、修理しやすく、生産工程におけるエネルギー消費量も低減できる新素材の開発を目指す。今回の提携を受けて、PYCOはブランデンブルク州のヴィルダウにある技術センターを拡張する方針を示している。
