アイルランド自動車工業会（SIMI）によると、同国の2012年9月の乗用車新車販売は前年同月比10％減の2,487台にとどまった。1～9月の累計は前年同期比12％減の7万6,630台。9月のモデル別の乗用車販売は、BMW「3シリーズ」が最も多く、フォード「フォーカス」、シュコダ「オクタビア」が続いた。メーカー別では、フォルクスワーゲンが首位となり、以下、フォード、トヨタが上位を占めた。
