独鉄鋼最大手のティッセンクルップ は12月19日、ドイツのドレスデンに炭素繊維複合材料（CFRP）の技術センター（TCCC）を開設したと発表した。軽量で強固なCFRPは風力発電設備や自動車、航空機などの部材に需要がある。同社ではTCCCの設立により、CFRPの新たな投入分野の研究や、生産工程の改善によるコスト削減などに取り組む計画。また、TCCCを通して同社のCFRPに関するプロジェクトを統括するとともに、ドレスデン工科大学など外部の研究機関との連携も強化していく意向を示している。
