ドイツ連邦陸運局（KBA）は10月31日、カーエアコン用の新冷媒「R1234yf」のリスク評価に関する最終報告書を欧州連合（EU）の欧州委員会に提出した。メディア報道によると、KBAは同報告書の中で「R1234yf」のリスクについてさらに試験を実施すべきであると強調するとともに、試験を通して得られた認識を将来、車両の認可手続きにも盛り込むべきかとうか、また、カーエアコンの安全要求事項を法律で規定するかについて検討すべきであるとの見解を示している。
