独高級車メーカーのBMW は電気自動車向けのバッテリーを内製する計画だ。同社のクラウス・ドレーガー取締役（開発担当）が独経済誌『フォーカス』に明らかにした。部品を外部から調達して社内でバッテリーを組みたて、車両に組み込む方針。セルの温度調整や充電監視システムなどはBMWが独自に開発するとした。バッテリー制御の中核技術を掌握した上で、BMWは2013年から電気自動車を量産化する計画。生産はドイツのライプチヒ工場が担当する予定。
