BMW は2013年に4人乗りEV「メガシティー・ビークル」を発売する予定だが、EVスポーツカーの投入も検討している。アイアン・ロバートソン取締役（販売担当）が英自動車専門誌『Autocar』に明らかにした。EVモデルは1機種とは限らないと述べ、昨年のフランクフルトモーターショーに出展したスポーツカーのコンセプトカー「ヴィジョンED」をベースにEVを開発する可能性を示唆した。
