独自動車大手のダイムラー は2010年通期の乗用車生産が120万台を超え、2008年の過去最高（約119万台）を更新する見通しだ。世界的な経済危機の影響を受けた2009年は約91万4,900台に落ち込んでいた。特に、「Cクラス」や高級セダンの「Eクラス」、「Sクラス」、コンパクトカーの「Aクラス」「Bクラス」、オフロード車「GLK」などの販売が好調で、国内工場では来年もフル稼働体制が続く見通しという。
