独化学大手のBASF は、自動車の軽量化に寄与する合成樹脂「Baxxodur」および「Elastolit R」を3月29～31日にパリで開催されるJEC国際複合材料見本市に出展する。両素材は、エポキシ樹脂とポリウレタンをベースとし、長繊維の炭素繊維またはガラス繊維に樹脂を浸み込ませた後に硬化させる、レジン・トランスファー・モールディング（RTM）技術で軽量部品を成型できる。両素材はサイクルタイムが5分以下と短いなどの特長があり、シャーシなど負荷の高い部分にも使用できる。
