フランスの首都パリ近郊のクールブヴォアでは5月上旬からパイロットプロジェクトとしてゴミ収集車に電気自動車（EV）を導入する。年内に11台を投入する計画という。ゴミ収集車のEVは、水処理・廃棄物処理を事業とするスエズ・エンバイロメントの子会社であるSITAフランスの委託を受けて、ゴミ収集車メーカーのSematと商用車向けの電動駆動システムを得意とするPVIが共同で開発した。米電池メーカー、ダウ・コカムのリチウムイオン電池を搭載し、8時間以上、作業に投入できるという。
