独自動車部品大手のZF はこのほど、新たに自動車メーカー2社から9速自動変速機（AT）を受注した。独業界紙『オートモビルボッヘ』によると、同社のハンス・ゲオルグ・ヘルター社長は、欧州と日本の自動車メーカーから受注したことを明らかにしている。ZFはすでに米クライスラーからも9速ATを受注しており、米国では約3億ユーロを投資してサウスカロライナ州に8速および9速ATを生産する新工場を建設している。同工場は2013年に操業を開始する予定。
