独ルフトハンザ航空は19日、国内便と欧州便の運航を傘下の格安航空会社ジャーマンウイングスに統合すると発表した。コスト削減、業務効率改善に向けた合理化の一環。これに伴いジャーマンウイングスは社名を変更し、新たな格安航空会社として再スタートする。

新会社にはルフトハンザが拠点とするフランクフルト、ミュンヘン空港以外の空港で運航する国内便、欧州便が統合される。保有機数は約90機で、初年度で1,800万人の利用を見込む。新会社の社名は未定で、数カ月以内に決める予定だ。
