Continentalのゴム・樹脂部品子会社ContiTechは14日、メキシコのトラルネパントラ市で新工場の操業を開始したと発表した。同社によると、床面積は約7,000万平方メートルで同市にあった旧工場の3倍に上る。自動車大手のVolkswagen（VW）から大型受注が2件入ったほか、今後の需要拡大も見込まれるため、今回の移転を決めた。新工場では車両用ホースを年250万本生産する。
