商用車・機械大手の独MANは15日、トラック子会社MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AGの社名を2011年1月1日付でMAN Truck & Bus AGに変更すると発表した。事業の国際化戦略の一環。商用車を意味するドイツ語「Nutzfahrzeuge」ではドイツ語圏以外の従業員や顧客に同社の事業イメージが伝わりにくいため、社名のこの部分を英語の「Truck」と「Bus」に変更。国際的な知名度の向上を目指す。
