起亜自動車 のスロバキア子会社キア・モーターズ・スロバキアは1月17日、2011年通期の自動車生産が前年比10％増の25万2,000台に拡大したと発表した。エンジンの生産も前年比12％増の35万9,000基に拡大した。エンジン生産の内訳はガソリンが50％、ディーゼルが50％。ディーゼルエンジンの生産はSUV車の需要拡大を受けて、前年に比べ37％増加した。2012年の自動車生産は前年を3万3,000台上回る28万5,000台を計画している。
