中国のバッテリー・自動車メーカー、比亜迪汽車（BYD） が開発した電動バス「BYD K9」の実用試験が欧州で行われている。ポーランドの自動車市場調査会社Samarによると、フランクフルト、ヘルシンキ、アムステルダム、コペンハーゲンの4都市のほか、このほど、マドリッドとバルセロナでも実用試験を開始したという。「BYD K9」は運転手を含め32人の乗車が可能。リチウムイオン電池（LiFePO4）を搭載し、最高速度は時速70キロメートル、1回のフル充電で250キロメートル走行できるという。
