ドイツ連邦教育研究省（BMBF）が支援する有機発光ダイオード（OLED）の共同研究プロジェクト「コバルト」がスタートした。OLEDの普及を促すため、同プロジェクトでは、白色OLEDシステムの寿命の大幅な延伸と生産コストの大幅な削減に重点を置いた研究に取り組む。期間は2012年8月1日～2015年7月31日の3年間。フィリップス、BASF、アイクストロンが参加している。BMBFは同プロジェクトに約1,740万ユーロを支援する。
