独自動車大手のフォルクスワーゲン（VW） はアセアン（東南アジア諸国連合）域内に工場を建設することを検討している。同地域の市場シェアは約1％にとどまっており、自動車市場の大幅な成長が見込まれている東南アジアでの事業拡大を加速する方針だ。クリスティアン・クリングラー販売取締役が経営幹部向けの社内誌で明らかにした。独『ハンデルスブラット』紙によると、VWは現在、アセアン地域では現地企業2社に自動車の組み立てを委託して生産するにとどまっている。
