排気系自動車部品メーカーの独エーベルスペッヒャー はトラック用の排ガス処理システムで世界首位を目指している。同社の排ガス部門を統括するトーマス・ヴュンシェ氏が明らかにした。排ガスに含まれる有害物質の削減は、エンジンの改良だけでは限界があり、煤煙フィルターや尿素SCR触媒を使用した排気ガス浄化装置を搭載する必要が出てくると指摘。米国や欧州で排ガス規制が強化されていることが事業拡大の追い風となると見込んでいる。4日付の独業界紙『オートモビルボッヘ』（電子版）が報じた。
