BMW のライトホーファー社長は18日の株主総会で、2009年秋に発売した「X1」の販売が3万6,000台に達し、予想以上に好調と説明、これまでより若い年齢層の顧客を開拓することができたと満足感を示した。今後についても9月に発売するMINI「カントリーマン」や、新型「5シリーズ」が販売やイメージ、業績をけん引するとの明るい見通しを示している。
