伊高級スポーツ車メーカーのランボルギーニ はこのほど、カーボンファイバー素材の研究開発拠点としてアドバンスド・コンポジット・リサーチ・センター（ACRC）を本社内に開設した。主に素材設計や生産メソッドなどを開発する。2,600平米の敷地を持つ同センターには2つの開発棟があり、約30人の開発陣を配置した。ランボルギーニはすでに数年前からカーボンファイバー素材の研究を開始、ノウハウを蓄積している。ランボルギーニ「ムルシエラゴ」の最新モデルではボディ・シェルに同素材が93kg使用されている。
