欧州自動車最大手の独フォルクスワーゲン（VW） は従業員の大幅増強を見込んでいる。同社のホルスト・ノイマン人事担当取締役は6日発行の独経済紙『ハンデルスブラット』に掲載されたインタビュー記事の中で、世界各国での成長を受けて、従業員数が現在の約40万人から中期的に45万人に増える可能性を示唆した。全体では今後5年間で約6万人、本国ドイツでは2015年末までに5,000～6,000人を増員する必要があるとの見解を示している。
