自動車部品大手のMahleは19日、西欧の従業員1,400人を削減すると発表した。2009年決算が赤字に転落したため、コスト削減措置を強化。ドイツ本国では800人を整理する。09年の最終損益は3億7,900万ユーロの赤字で、前年の黒字（2,200万ユーロ）から大幅に悪化。売上高は23％減の38億ユーロに落ち込んだ。アジア、南米事業が好調なため、2010年はこれを45億ユーロまで回復させ、黒字化も図るとしている。
