自動車大手のDaimlerは商用車を生産する独ヴェルト、ガッゲナオ工場の操業短縮を予定より1カ月早め5月末で終了する。Mercedes-Benzブランドの商用車の需要が回復しているため。ドイツ国内の他の商用車工場（マンハイム、カッセル）では当初予定通り、操短を6月末まで継続する。同社は米国では人員投入の柔軟化と生産効率向上に向けた労使協定を全米自動車労働組合（UAW）と締結した。これに伴い米工場の雇用は今後も維持する。
