高級車大手の独Daimlerは4月に戦略提携した日産にエンジンを供給することで合意したいもようだ。独『シュピーゲル』紙が報じたもので、日産はDaimler製の4気筒、6気筒ディーゼルエンジンを欧州、米国市場向けモデルに搭載する。供給規模は年5万基。これによりDaimlerの独ウンターチュルクハイム工場の雇用が維持されるという。Daimlerのディーター・ツェッチェ社長はエンジン供給により同社のブランドイメージが傷つくことはないとしている。
