デンマークの組み立て玩具メーカーLego（ビルン）は18日、上海の西およそ100キロの嘉興市に工場を建設すると発表した。アジア需要の急速な拡大を受け、現地生産に踏み切る。同社がアジアに生産施設を設置するのは今回が初めて。

2014年に着工し、17年から生産を開始する。製品の70～80％をアジア市場で販売する意向だ。

Legoは現在、欧州向け製品をデンマークとチェコ、ハンガリー、アメリカ大陸向け製品をメキシコで生産している。
