仏トタル・グループ傘下の石油化学大手トタル・ペトロケミカルズ はこのほど、2013年春からベルギー・フェルイ工場で次世代の膨張ポリスチレンフォーム（EPS）を生産する計画を発表した。生産能力年8万トンの設備を使い、従来品に比べて絶縁性などに優れたEPSを量産する予定。耐衝撃性ポリスチレン（HIPS）や汎用ポリスチレン（GPPS）の生産も、年8万トンの規模で継続する、としている。
