自動車大手のVolkswagen（VW）は16日、西ドイツ地区にある6工場の従業員およそ9万人について2014年まで引き続き雇用することで金属労組IGメタルと合意したと発表した。現行の雇用保証協定が2011年に失効することを受け、これまで交渉を続けてきた。乗用車市場の低迷は今後も続くと予想されるが、経営陣は新モデルの投入などで生産台数を確保する考え。生産性の向上に伴い余剰となる従業員については部品工場への配置換えなどで対応していく。
