CPU製造大手の米Globalfoundriesは1日、独ドレスデン工場を大幅に拡張すると発表した。13億ユーロを投じてウエハー月産能力を2012年末までに現在の3万枚から8万枚に拡大、パソコン需要の世界的な拡大に対応する。同社は米CPU大手AMDの製造部門を分離する形で設立されたファウンドリー（半導体受託製造企業）。
