キャセイパシフィック航空が運航するエアバス「A330-300」型機で16日、フライト中にエンジンが発火する事故が起きた。エアバス機では昨秋、超大型機「A380」で同様の事故が相次いで起きたばかり。今回も英ロールスロイスが手がけたエンジンが火をふいた。

事故が発生したのはシンガポール発ジャカルタ行きの機材。エンジンが発火したため、シンガポール・チャンギ国際空港に戻り緊急着陸した。火は着陸後に消し止められ、乗客136人は全員、無事だった。
