太陽電池大手の独Q-Cellsが競合との合併を視野に入れている。熾烈な価格競争が今後さらに激しくなると予想されるためで、同社のネディム・ツェン社長は経済紙『ハンデルスブラット』紙に対し、「適切なパートナーがあれば拒絶しない」との立場を明らかにした。太陽電池市場には近年、自動車部品大手の独Boschや石油大手の仏Totalなど業界外の大手企業が相次いで参入しており、同社長はこの傾向が今後も続くと予想している。
