カネカは24日、独Q-Cellsに太陽電池モジュールに関わる欧州登録特許（第1009037号）と米国登録特許（第6300555号）の非独占的通常実施権を与えることで合意したと発表した。同特許は、太陽電池のモジュールに外枠を付ける際に用いるスペーサ（緩衝材）が特定の熱伝導率と抵抗率を持つことを規定した技術で、太陽電池モジュールの熱割れを防止する効果がある。
