独海運大手のKomrowskiとErck Rickmersは14日、両社の合併計画を明らかにした。激しい価格競争や燃料価格の高騰に対応する狙いで、合併が実現するとドイツ最大の海運会社が誕生する。合併手続きは独禁当局などの承認を経て来年第1四半期に終了する見通し。両社は新会社Blue Starのもとで事業を展開していく。船舶数は計162隻で、コンテナ船が120隻を占める。輸送能力は計940万トン。
