独検察当局は12日、スイスの大手銀行UBSのドイツ支店を対象に立ち入り調査を実施した。同行はドイツの顧客の脱税行為を組織的に支援していた疑いが持たれており、立ち入り捜査は複数の支店を対象に行われた。

捜査はノルトライン・ヴェストファーレン州の税務当局がUBSの顧客データを記録したCDを取得したことがきっかけで2012年に始まった。容疑者宅の家宅捜査はすでに頻繁に行われている。UBSの広報担当者は「顧客の脱税をほう助するいかなる活動も許容しない」との立場を表明した。
