ドイツ鉄道（DB）は17日、6月の洪水で不通となっていたベルリン～ハノーバー間の長距離鉄道路線で11月4日から運転を再開すると発表した。これまでは復旧が早くても12月になるとみていたが、被害が予想を下回ったため、正常化の時期が早まった。

エルベ川をはさむシュテンダールとラーテナウの区間およそ5キロで地盤が緩み6月から走行できなくなった。DBはこれを受けて臨時ダイヤを編成したものの、迂回経路を走行するため、運行の所要時間が長くなっている。
